What does your family do on Christmas Eve?

What were your Christmas eve traditions when you were young, what are they now, and are they the same? Mine remained the same throught the years. When I was little every Christmas Eve we would go to look at Christmas lights, then we would come home and my dad would read "The night before Christmas". After that we all opened one present a piece, left cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeers. Now that I a older and have children of my own, my traditions remain the same. So tommorow night we will look at lights, read the story, open a present and leave the cookies and carrots just like when I was little. Did your traditions stay the same, or did you make new ones of your own?
