Mylot word limit

I was just thinking that a minimum word limit would help cut down on some of the problems we have here on mylot. At least it would cut out the 1 or 2 word responses.
Has anyone else other suggestions that could help limit the amount of cheathing that goes on here?

it should be no point for less than 10 words, and no piont for more than 100. or maybe no more than 3-4 sentences.

Sometimes a person may need an answer that's only a few words. I don't think a person trying to leave an answer should have his or her answer removed, or should be punished, just because the answer they gave was short--it could have been exactly what the person asking the question wanted.

Well if someone just say two words I rate them negative..I think that is all I can do in charity to all the others here that post a thought out response..It is useless though to keep nagging at them.

I totally agree with you there emisle
Also somehow they need to try and get rid of these that are putting responses in where it has nothing to do with the discussion I have reported a few again
But yes I reckon there should be a Word Limit to
Just how would they be able to do that

I was told when I joined that in order to be paid, I should be writing at least 4 lines of text. So I have found myself wondering why people are giving so many short responses, and then I'm assuming being paid for it.

There are lot of new comers who are giving away answers like YES, NO, I AM, IAM NOT, I DONOT, I AGREE, I DONOT AGREE like that. Many youngsters think that by writing such responses, they can get away and make high ratings. Unless the responses are descriptive no one will get money for silly answers of 1 word, 2 words, 3 words. etc.

I think there should definitely be a minimum word count when posting on mylot. I dunno any other things they could do to stop people from cheating though.... I think they're doing a decent job right now.

I have actually seen some users type with a bunch of back slashes in order to be able to appear as if it is a long response. But putting a minimum on words would help to try to reduce the occurence of short responses. Sadly, cheaters will find a way to cheater period. :( But is a great idea! :)

This is a great idea. The limit doesn't have to be anything high, 25 characters or something. If you put together a good sentence you can reach this easily. it will still allow them to post there silly discussions, but at least it may get rid of the yes, no responces.
Good idea!

I think that there should be a word limit because that would slim down on the 1 and 2 word answers. Some people on here are just trying to post to as many discussions as possible to get as many points as they can and there should be a word limit to help with the discusions
Please rate this.

Hi, I am totally agree with you. someone here are only for making money. They just opens new topics and did not bother about what response they got. They have to read the respons they got and mark the good response.

I moderate on a forum where there is a 10 word minimum and I discovered it by accident. Maybe here it should be a higher minimum. For those here just to simply make money, they'd get sick of counting their words to make sure they met the minimum requirements.

may b u should just neglect these responses & go furthur

After perusing this site and seeing some of the horrible spelling, grammar and other abuses of the English language, I'd say we should work on that first. It's ADOPTION, not ADAPTION when talking about a child. It's ADVICE, not ADVISE when asking what someone would suggest in a certain situation.
And why isn't this set up like other message boards where you can have similar topics grouped together and I don't have to wade through all the stuff I'd never respond to?
