I was just thinking that a minimum word limit would help cut down on some of the problems we have here on mylot. At least it would cut out the 1 or 2 word responses. Has anyone else other suggestions that could help limit the amount of cheathing that goes on here?

it should be no point for less than 10 words, and no piont for more than 100. or maybe no more than 3-4 sentences.

It's hard to decide what the limit should be.

Sometimes a person may need an answer that's only a few words. I don't think a person trying to leave an answer should have his or her answer removed, or should be punished, just because the answer they gave was short--it could have been exactly what the person asking the question wanted.

True, i have no problem with people who actually bother to write a few words relevant to what's asked. It's just the comments that have obviously been posted to make a few cents that i have a prob with!

Well if someone just say two words I rate them negative..I think that is all I can do in charity to all the others here that post a thought out response..It is useless though to keep nagging at them.

I doubt that many even bother to check back to see if the topic starter has responded to their comments. They just flying from topic to topic..:(

I totally agree with you there emisle Also somehow they need to try and get rid of these that are putting responses in where it has nothing to do with the discussion I have reported a few again But yes I reckon there should be a Word Limit to Just how would they be able to do that

I think unless people start putting in some effort there will need to be a minimum character length introduced.

I was told when I joined that in order to be paid, I should be writing at least 4 lines of text. So I have found myself wondering why people are giving so many short responses, and then I'm assuming being paid for it.

the more lines you write, the more you will earn supposedly.

I feel the same, some discussions just don't leave a lot of scope to write long thoughtful answers.

There are lot of new comers who are giving away answers like YES, NO, I AM, IAM NOT, I DONOT, I AGREE, I DONOT AGREE like that. Many youngsters think that by writing such responses, they can get away and make high ratings. Unless the responses are descriptive no one will get money for silly answers of 1 word, 2 words, 3 words. etc.

I agree, hopefully they will learn quickly that this is not the way to go about earning because other members won't put up with it.

I think there should definitely be a minimum word count when posting on mylot. I dunno any other things they could do to stop people from cheating though.... I think they're doing a decent job right now.

I have actually seen some users type with a bunch of back slashes in order to be able to appear as if it is a long response. But putting a minimum on words would help to try to reduce the occurence of short responses. Sadly, cheaters will find a way to cheater period. :( But is a great idea! :)

I sent the suggestion onto mylot but whether they will consider it or not is another story. i just hate the fact that a few people are taking some of the fun out of this place..:(

This is a great idea. The limit doesn't have to be anything high, 25 characters or something. If you put together a good sentence you can reach this easily. it will still allow them to post there silly discussions, but at least it may get rid of the yes, no responces. Good idea!

I think that there should be a word limit because that would slim down on the 1 and 2 word answers. Some people on here are just trying to post to as many discussions as possible to get as many points as they can and there should be a word limit to help with the discusions Please rate this.

I'm new to MyLot but I have noticed many topics where I get frustrated reading through because the responses are as you describe. Who wants to waste a bunch of time sorting through the crap?

I have neaver thought about that before but yeah i think that it would help mylot. I try my best to post good responses and not just yes or no or feww little words. You might get good response if they put i word minimum sounds like a good idea :) Merry Christmas

Hi, I am totally agree with you. someone here are only for making money. They just opens new topics and did not bother about what response they got. They have to read the respons they got and mark the good response.

I suggest, the minimum word limit should be 25 words for comments and 50 words for discussion topics in mylot. Quite a few words don't carry clear expressions always, that is why. Thanks.

I moderate on a forum where there is a 10 word minimum and I discovered it by accident. Maybe here it should be a higher minimum. For those here just to simply make money, they'd get sick of counting their words to make sure they met the minimum requirements.

dear emisle i totally agree with u as if somebody sending u 1 or 2 word reply means he is trying to increase his point actually w r here to make money but apart from tat to make some worthful disscission also which is impossible in 2 words may b u should just neglect these responses & go furthur wat do u say

I just like the idea of making the cheaters work a bit harder! lol! i'd still report them if they were just winging it to make the word limit.

After perusing this site and seeing some of the horrible spelling, grammar and other abuses of the English language, I'd say we should work on that first. It's ADOPTION, not ADAPTION when talking about a child. It's ADVICE, not ADVISE when asking what someone would suggest in a certain situation. And why isn't this set up like other message boards where you can have similar topics grouped together and I don't have to wade through all the stuff I'd never respond to?
