I have to say that many people think (and they're wrong) that french people eat frogs... my god, we are normal people (...). Sorry to disappoint you but we ALSO think it's disgusting.. Actually I think it has been invented just to make american tourists spend their money. :) WHat do you think? ever tried? or snails maybe? share with us!

well I wouldn't eat a dog either! I think it's not comparable to chicken... but anyway I know that it's about cultural habits, but my point is: why do people wrongly think we do that, that it's typical. Actually that's not so common, and don't know anybody in france who has ever eaten frogs legs..
thanks for your response!

well its one of the exotic food here in our country. I have tried it and it taste good like chicken. NOrmal people eat frogs and its not the frog that you or we seen everywhere like those ugly frogs that we seen or the kind of frog that use in science expirement. ITs the kind of frog that clean and safe to eat. Its not disgusting. You should try it.

It's common to eat frogs in Singapore and we have a farm to supply them. They belong to a certain species, not those you find near the ponds! Frog legs are said to strengthen the leg muscles for babies when they are learning to walk. They are skinned and added to porridge, just like other meat. It is an expensive delicacy and tastes like chicken meat, enjoy by both young and old here. It's not disgusting as you won't get to see the whole frog sitting on your plate. I don't blame you as I haven't tried escargot too. I tend to think of it as that garden snail slugging across the fence. Urgh..

I love frog legs, and I am not french. I also eat escargot, and sushi. I have a friend who went to Korea and she ate dog on a regular basis while she was there for a year. I have eaten python and goat and sheep tripe (stomach and intestines) when I was in Africa. I liked to try new things. Sometimes I have to convince myself before I eat. I would never eat the live bugs and reptiles and worms like they do on TV game shows.

I have French friends who say they eat frog's legs (not frogs) I don't think it's much different from any other animal, actually it's much cleaner than pigs.. I love France and French people never thought they are disgusting in any way :)

There's no big deal in eating frogs, these varieties were really the edible one and not the one that you usually see on the streets or at your own backyard (most of w/c were poisonous). They were mostly found at rice paddies, best cooked fried or with coconut milk...skin removed of course.

I was at home in France for Christmas and I enjoyed having snails. I wanted to eat frog legs but they were too expensive. I have to say just try. I've tried caterpillar in Africa and it was gorgeous. The secret is in the sauce. If we ask to a dietician, I am sure he or she will say it is better food than a hamburger where the nutrients are unhealthy.
