Ok, this post is really old, but I will respond in case anyone else reads it.
Laxative abuse is a very bad idea, and I am speaking from experience, I didn't abuse them as bad as a lot of people, actually, I only occasionally took too many, but it's just not a good idea. The weight you lose from laxatives is only temporary, and the thing is, for it to work you basically have to use them all the time, and then your body grows dependent on them, so 2 was enough at first? Well, with time you will need more and more. I have heard of people taking like a box a day in some cases, because they had been abusing them so long that their body wouldn't function without the laxatives. And the pain, is so not worth it, after 5 laxative (about 3 over dosage) I would be in such bad stomach pain that I though I was dying.
Now, I could go into the other details of how bad laxatives are, but I won't, because I know in the end you will do what you want, because I was a regular abuser of diuretics(water pills) for a long time--I took them like candy really.., and from what I can remember, after a while I ended up bloated and retaining more water! These are 2 different things, but they both do the same thing, expel water and or waste. And they are dangerous if you take them for too long, and in the end you will either end up gaining weight or maintaining it, if you are lucky.
I know what it's like to want to lose weight more than anything, but it's not worth taking laxative, in the end, it's more unhealthy for the body than even excess weight is, because your electrolytes get unbalanced and that can hurt the heart. And well, like I said, I'm not gonna go through it all, but, it's just not a good idea.

Please do not do this to yourself. Using laxatives to loose weight is very unhealthy and dangerous. It causes you to NOT absorb NUTRIENTS from your foods. It's like having chronic diahrea. Its like having cholera. You will become dehydrated also. Lack of nutrients and fluids will cause complications to your body's organs, and even basic functioning. You will deprive your brain of nutrients needed to think clearly. Surely you can cut off empty calorie foods (soda, candy, white flour and white sugar products) and exercise alittle every day. This will help you loose weight if you eat a wholesome diet every day.

i'm an avid fan of angel locsin. i admire her beauty because she simply rely on having good health habits in taking care of herself. look at her thighs...it's big but she firmed it up by taking some trainings she needed in her role in her current tv show. she doesn't believe in taking some of those laxatives.she doesn't even tried liposuction...just a discipline in taking something into our body.

If I were you, I wouldn't try it at all. You see, I tried to do that for a month in the past. Now, I'm having bowel sounds and movements all the time! It's so embarrassing, and most of all, that means that my system got affected by the constant purging. It's really not advisable. Prolonged or chronic use could even lead to worse adverse effects like dehydration. Please don't do it. There are other safer ways to lose weight without sacrificing your health and well-being.

Laxatives are very dangerous to use for weightloss and actually signify that you may have an eating disorder.
My friend used laxatives on and off for years and she used to tell me that the stomach cramping every day was really painful, she used to sweat with the pain and sometimes it would make her vomit - now that has to be very severe pain. Now though the problems she has from using the laxatives is much worse. She doesn't use them now and hasn't for about two years, but every day she looses control of her bowel. It doesn't matter where she is, she has no warning or control. Poor girl. The mess, the embarressment and the smell is horrific.
Please don't use laxatives, so dangerous for your body. My friend is skinny, but unhealthy, always getting sick and has a bloated out stomach now from her bowel troubles.
Find a healthy way to loose weight. Exercise and a healthy diet work well.

Definately not safe and a lazy way to try to lose weight. You will get a nutrient deficiency and dehydration. And, odds are, once you quit this the weight plus more will come back b/c you screwed your system up. Try eating better and exercising as an alternative!
