Celebrities getting off with stuff that would land normal people in jail

yea that right there pisses me off, lets take into example Mel Gibson, was pulled over for DUI,a dn in the process said some antisemetic comments, now lets say I had done this, I would have been severly beaten if the cop was Jewish and had my butt thrown in jail for god knows how long with probably no chance of getting out for a while, so why the hell does this always happen to celebs and famous people?
