Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas?

Seriously wats up with that? I mean isnt it christmas time, so wouldnt you say Merry Christmas, unless your Jewish

IMO, it is because the people who don't celebrate xmas or who aren't of the christian religion, believe that everyone should go by what they go by. I think that if you come to America then you should celebrate our beliefs and culture. Just because your country doesn't celebrate Christmas doesn't mean that we should not say Merry Christmas, because you are supposedly offended. I think it is just another reason to give someone to make mess and get people revved up over nothing.

I meant that not everyone who is from america is of one religion. I just meant that don't try to force your religious beliefs or holiday's on us because you don't believe in ours.

Well when you see someone on the street or in the store do you know what religion they are? There are several different religious holidays celebrated in the month of Decemeber and of course New Year's Day. By saying Happy Holidays you are recognizing that there is a holiday and that you want them to enjoy it whatever that holiday may be. It is showing that you can share joy with them and still respect their differnces. It is not demeaning one religion or raising one above another. It is just being nice to one another.
