I just came back from my nieces birthday party. All the kids had lots of fun. My nieces sister(my sister's exhusband & another woman's child) came over for the party as well. Well, my sister just called to let me know that she just found the little girl has lice. (For those who don't know, these are tiny bugs that live in people's hair and feed off the scalp)Anyway, although kids get this kind of stuff here and there, this poor child has had it at least 10 times in the past year (if not more) Her mother does not clean the childs hair as she is suppose to. The little girl is only 3 1/2 years old and several complaints have already been made against the mother for not properly caring for this child. Yet nothing is done. It is such a shame because this girl is really a sweetheart. It just makes me so sad to see mothers not caring for their children and nothing being done to help these children have a better life. Where are these social services people? Her father is a good person and cleans the childs hair when she stays with him, but then it is right back to the lice infestation home where she gets them once again.

Woah! - excuse me, but one you need to actually get some facts straight - and two don't ever call my kids filthy. If you bothered to do a little research you'd discover that head lice don't give a damn about how clean or dirty a person's head is!
WIth that attitude I can only imagine what may happen if there were ever any found at your child's school.

hmm, feel bad for the little girl cause she keeps getting it, but it doesnt mean shes dirty, my mom got lice in the HOSPITAL when my little brother was around 2 mnths old and in the hospital over a week cause he got RSV 8 years ago. she stayed with him and well..she got buggies from there!
just getting lice doesnt mean that shes not cared for.

Unfortunatly it is proven that lice is not from filth. In fact they prefer clean heads to dirty ones. Yes there are things that can be done to help from getting these little creepy bugs, but just because someone gets them does not mean that they are dirty. There are so many ways and places that people can pick these things up that you can not say that it is because someone is dirty.

Lice can happen in any school no matter how clean it is. It requires constant work and vigilance to eliminate them and they can come back. It is sad, but it's not necessarily the mother's fault.

You are missing the point, anyone cat get them, its the crime to KEEP getting them which means not treating them properly in the first place. The environment and everyone in the house needs treated or they don't go away

My son used to get lice in his hair last year even though they were cut close to his scalp, every week from school. No matter how much I cleaned his head he used to attend school for two days and they used to be back. I checked with the girl who used to sit next to him but her hair were clean. I never came to know from whom he got them. Now with change of city and school his hair are always neat and no more lice problem. May be the mother herself has lice sop the little girl keeps getting them again and again.

it's so sad.. some partents don't respect their kids ... and The mom must be attached by her own kid and clean her hair and make kids clean(u know what i mean).... but it's good the dad attached the kid and really changed her life ... it's bad in this world with X-tra technology exist those kind of people...
Marry x-mas & happy new year
PS:My birth it's tomorrow (x-mas day)

Really the mother seems to be very careless. But the father seeme to do the job to the perfection and cleans the child hair when she stays with him. it is a good posting.

Oh dear. If I have a daughter like that she will be well taken cared of. Well there are reall iresponsible parents expecially moms. This serves a lesson to careless mums out there.I will give the best that I could to my kids in the future... i guarantee that.

I'd say call Child services yourself. Show them the details and they'll investigate. Most likely, after seeing the house, they'll make her give up the child and it'll most likely go to the father. He should have full custody in no time!
