normally i don't join such discussion which results in YES/NO or I DO/ I DON'T types of answers, when i joined that time i participated in some of them then i came to know about dos and donts of mylot , so after that i stop discussing in such discussion, well i don't afraid to response in any discussion, but the topic of the discussion must have some thing , i dont feel bad if MYLOT removes some of my points and few cents, it doesn't bother me , the thing is ... we hare to discuss in healthy topics so i usually select topic as my interest and i post my comments..... thats it ,...

I usually do the same thing. Unfortunately, I run into a lot of those kinds of discussions in my quest for something I'm interested in. I've started discussions that might have promted those sort of responses(before I read the guidelines) but I was expecting them to justify that answer which they usually didn't. Oh well.

Mylot FAQ or was it the guidelines specifically mentioned that if they delete the discussion in question then all the responses being deleted go as well which means that a good response would also meet the same consequence. I really hope they consider your point though.

No problem here. Just read the alerts and rules. Most of their rules are commons sense. They want discussions that make sense, and that are not offensive. They don't want pasting or coping or one words like yes and no. It has not affected me in anyway.

Definitely, i am starting avoid to avoid junk discussion. Sometimes i even search for similar discussion to see if it's a hijacked one. Because, if we respond to those discussion which violate the mylot guideline, our response will be deleted together. It's even worse if the earning is deducted as well.
It's not difficult to differentiate a quality discussion from the rest. It's usually discussing about issue or controvercial topic. Eg like facing dilemma in life, helping friend with a problem and asking for advice. Usually there are also a lot of made-up, but choose those at least putting it as something genuinely for discussion. Junk discussion is like those very simple one like asking "Do you like A or B?" or "Do you have bla bla bla". Besides, you can counter check the profile to see if it match the user description and can could get a hint wether it's a made-up discussion topic. Usually those with very low response rate/score

I do that as well but I'm worried that what I see as a valuable topic could be offensive to others or not strictly up to mylot's standards. Well, I suppose I can't avoid making a few bad choices and it's really about having fun in the discussion too.

Of course not. A discussion being deleted will only cause a decrease in my rating and won't bring any decline in my Earnings so there is nothing to worry about. Probably its our mistake that why do we respond to such lame discussions which are quite vulnerable to deletion.

It will bring about a decreasein your earnings although it might be so small you don't notice. I think that those people replying to a discussion might feel differently about the "lameness" of the topic. I do agree it's dumb to reply yes/no or I don't know and expect it to be considered as much of a contribution.

i've heard that there are 2 types of discussions that may got deleted 'those that asked people to congratulate them when they reached certain rating' AND 'those that asked people to wish them a Happy Birthday!' i will always try not to respond to these discussions unless it's one of my friends' list....

I know I responded to something along the lines of how often I wish my parents happy birthday but I've never bothered to do the ones celebrating their earnings because that was kind of predictable seeing as it would make alot of other people annoyed at not being so lucky. It was real nice of you to respond even though I'm not in your friends list. ^_^

The problem comes with deciding what topic is retarded and which one isn't. I wish some of them would be more obvious when it could offend someone who might complain in which case, the clean up crew might delete the topic anyway. Well, good luck.

I just post at the discussions that I'm interested in or ones that stand out. I'm not worried about the deleted ones because they would only be a small fraction of the discussions that I respond to. Look for discussions that have something more to them than a yes or no response and you should be fine

My post was deleted 50 post 7 hours ago. 1 hours after hey update my earning into 9$, mylot reduce my post.
Amazing count. I never post only 1 line. minimum I post 2-3 line. I never send spam
My only mistakes maybe choose simple and usseles discusion.
I bored with discusion which only ekspose their persoal problem. I'm not expert in English. I'm afraid to respond that kind of discusion. But when I find simple topic such us "What is Ur fave actor", "What is Ur fav color" etc, I think that kind of discusion is deleted.
remember, I never give sort answer. I always explain it.
GOD. I need 50 post again to able to post image. I try hard today to reach 500 post from 300. But I think it uselles. T___T

Read the Guidelines carefully and frequently. MyLot doesn't delete discussions for no reason, even if they have been reported. They do check every report individually (unlike Yahoo Answers).
If you only reply to good discussions to which you have something substantial to add, you need have no fear of deletions.

So far I have not lost anything, but I will not respond to obvious one word discussions. I have responded to some lighthearted discussions, and I think that is okay, this is community, family, and we can tease each other and have fun. If I were to lose a point or two or a penny or two, I really would not mind, if it eliminated some cheating and manipulating. Welcome to myLot, it looks like you are pretty new.

I think it's mostly to stop people from responding to the kind of discussions they are trying to discourage. The one-line ones that just clutter everything up. (As I call them, the "do you like toast" posts.)
I'm not afraid of responding to anything that I actually find interesting, because chances are those aren't going to be deleted. And if I misjudge once in a while, oh well. I'm losing anything I actually *have* yet.
