Hello, guys. I'm a college student in China. I like to read and post discussions on mylot. I like to share my thoughts with friends here, but I really don't want my bad English to be a barrier when I express my thoughts or opinions. So, I sincerely hope you guys can point out the mistakes I make in my posts, so that I can improve my English. Whatever mistakes, however tiny they are, point them out and tell me what should I say in the right or proper way. However, I think it's not good for us to laugh at people, because it's against the rules. In spite of my bad English, I still know how to report abuse. :)
Thank you guys. I really appreciate your help!

Don't worry about bad English. This is not an English subject. If there is a will there is a way. Many Filipinos learned how to speak English well. English is one of the subjects up to college and it is a means of instruction here. But even if it is not, we may still learn how to write and speak English. Get a vocabulary and English grammar and learn the vocabulary first then apply the grammar. It's easy if you are interested.

I think you're doing wonderful with your English! Don't be so hard on yourself, it's not bad at all. Learning a new language that is not our own is hard, and people should never laugh. One of the hardest things about learning about English is how the sentence is formed. My son-in-law speaks Spanish, and when he learned English it was hard to learn where to place the subject within the sentence (because it's said/written in a different position in the sentence in Spanish.) The best thing that you can do is to read, and pretty soon it will come naturally to you. Keep participating in discussions too, and don't worry so much...I think you're doing great with it!

I agree with you, Siva. One need to return to watching news and reading books in order to improve one's English in an effective way.
By the way, isn't it a antiquated topic to talk about how to learn English? I don't understand why Chinese students show such great interests in such a topic which few foreign people, also English learners, would care about.
