lack of responses

Response depends on the topic if interests general crowd response is more, if it is of serious nature then you have few responses.

I'm finding that the more people that I add to my friends list, the more answers that I get. As I add friends they are going back and answering questions that I asked a week or two ago. Some of the questions with a lot of answers were asked a long time ago, but as they get answered it puts them back out for others to see.

The lack of responses could be due to several reasons. The other people have no interest in the topic or do not know how to respond to it due to not knowing much about what is being discussed. myLot does not want people saying yes or no answers or saying I do not know so people will stay away from discussions they are not familiar with. Duplicate discussions will receive little or no responses as well.

in my experience the poorer the discussions the more answers they get, they are easier to answer and get lots of points. Good discussions take thought to answer so people dont bother. Guess its just how life is

Well, as long as you post good or quality questions they would eventually be found by myloters who are interested in quality discussions. I've posted quality questions but some did not get any response for some less than ten.
