This story may be fiction. But with everyone showing and interest in Millionaires and billionairs, I thought I will also cut in.
Peter was a church helper, chewing tobacco and illiterate. But he was and honest and able helper and knew his job well. One day the priest wanted to refine the church and decided to keep only those who are literate to work for him. So he gave some money to Peter and told him to find a job.
Peter came to town and the first thing he did was look for some tobacco. He went everywhere and could not find any. So many told him that they are also looking for it but are frustrated, unable to find it.
So Peter went to the next city looking for tobacco. There he met a tobacco merchant. While buying tobacco for him he thought of the others and brought some for them also. But he kept a margin and sold it to them. He continued doing this and found it to be a good money making idea.
After some years Peter had a chain of tobacco outlets, buying exporting and even growing. His wealth increased by milions and millions.
One day he went to the bank to bank his money. After he banked it the bank manager gave him a list of rules and asked for his opinion.
"Sorry, I cannot read". said Peter.
"What you cannot read", the bank manager said suprisingly, "You have so much of wealth without being able to read, can you imagine what you would have been if you could read".
"Oh! I would have been a church helper", said Peter.
