Many of us consider the option of working from home but hesitate to make up the mind due to 2 main factors --- the lack of opportunities and financial uncertainties. Tell us your hopes and fears and if you have already work from home, tell us how you made the switch or share with us your successful story of working from home.

Today it is possible to work from home if you are in a position to weather the initial time when income will be low while you get established. On the positive side are the fact that you can be home with the children, can work around their schedules, it doesn't cost additional for childcare or transport etc. The downside is that it can be uncertain and many people fail or they expect to earn the same amount of money working from home as they do when they are working for an employer. These days I am retired, so what I earn here on myLot is for those little luxuries we couldn't afford if I did not do this. We did survive without any extra money for a long time, so this is a bonus although a very nice one I might add. I do devote several hours a day to myLot and make quite a reasonable amount but of course it is nowhere near what it would be if I went out to work for an employer. Also I am somewhat restricted because I am on dial up connection and that is nowhere near how fast the high speed broadband connections are. For anyone considering working from home, they do your homework first. Then get a couple of sites that you know that work and build up on them. Many people have blogs and their referral details are listed on them, so the referrals also help make them money. Once you start getting some money in, put it aside to help you through those initial few months while getting established. That will make the transition much easier I believe.
