Sholay was alltime hit in the 70's and still it continues to make great sucess!

Yes you are right, Old is Gold. The original Sholay is gold and will be gold for ever. New experiment will be waste of money and time. It can't and will never come to the expection of peoples.

I completely agree/Original sholay will always remain the original.I am sure even if RGV's sholay remake would be released and the Original Sholay is re-released with it,the original will still do better business.The best part about the original sholay is that when you see the film,you become a part of it.

sholey is hte super-duper hit movie with all respect like star casting,dalogus,music action etc.. i have seen this movie more than 30 times.. but i think ramgopal varma can't reach height of old SHOLAY. but lets wait and watch!!!

I have never seen the second film like showy. After passing 40 years the Sholy seems still fresh. I have seen this film about 15 years ago but I still remember each character and their dialogs. Dham, Amit, Ghabar, Asrani ,Sanjeev Kumar, Surma Bhopali, Sambha all the characters have performed their role perfectly. The dialogs, the scenes, selection of sites and music everything is perfect and memorable. I think still next in 40 years on one will compete the SHOLE.

i donot know how much times i watched the sholay film . still i watch it , it even bores me off. till today. this is a movie of millenium i say.

Yeah its one of the greatest movie indian cinema has ever got. This is one of the movies which no one cannot make a remake.I dont think he will be able to do justice to sholay and remakes never do well in india. s The artists now and then are totally differnt, the mentallality of people have changed and there are lot of other factors which i think will be the cause of failure of remake of sholay. Sholay-2 deserves to be made. But this remake cannot compete with the original film whosoever actor be taken. Every actor be the "Thakoor" has done a fabulous job.

I have nothing against remakes but sholay was an ultimate movie. there will definitely be comparisons between the two and i cant wait to see how it turns out. whether it can recreate magic.

The original story had gabbar singh as a army man who gets court martialated because of his smuggling activities and thakur being the one who somehow is responsible for the whole thing. this part of the story was cut out in the screenply itself and gabbar army fatigues were the only things that stayed on
