I've been to So.Leyte once. for about 40days. I wanna go there again so much! the favorite part is people! they are so nice, so kind. were they nice only because I was a foreigner? I don't think so. (of course there were people who tried to overcharge, though.) As Prince_Magma said, that place is safe even late at night, I guess. This is really good point! peaceful and beautiful places. the best part is that I can go to the mountain and the beach both in a day if I want to. the valleys were really really good. and I think the San Juanico Bridge is interesting. lake Danao in Ormoc city, Maria Kannon, Amphitheater and Sto.Nino Shrine & Heritage Museum in Tacloban.. these ALL are interesting, but also what I missed.. tears(T_T) hmm..let me ask u something. binagol and chocolate moron(is this right spelling?) different?? not appearance, I mean its taste..

Binagol tastes different from moron (accent on the last syllable). The latter has bitter chocolate in it. Binagol is just pure sweetness.

Aside from that great landing site of McArthur, there is also the famous Imeldific pet project San Juanico bridge connecting leyte and Samar. In Ormoc, there is a beautiful upland lake called Danao, still undeveloped and not yet well-known. The Tongonan is supplying electric power not only the whole of Leyte but also Cebu, some parts of Luzon and Mindanao, from the power of the volcano.

Leyte Island, Phillipines - Map of Leyte Island in the Phillipines
Only a leyteno would know for sure what makes Leyte interesting. But from what I can remember it was on Leyte that General Douglas McArthur made his famous return during the second world war. It was very instrumental in the victory against the Japanese as well. Other than that I cannot say having never been there.

Actually I didn't need the research as I learned it when I was in high school. I also remember quite a lot about the war in the Pacific as I had an two uncles that served in the Pacific during the war and they told me lots of war stories.

I'm a true-blue taclobanon in short waray-waray. And I'm proud to be one. Leyte is situated in the Eastern Visayas Region of the country philippines. It is also the largest province in the Eastern Visayas Region. I'm also proud to say that the longest bridge in Asia is located in leyte and samar ...it is called San Juanico Bridge that connects Samar and Leyte.

i also love leyte's binagol, when i went there my soon to be mother in law prepared me one and i love it so much i finished the cup in 10 mins, when my fiancee went here in manila he did bring me binagol and also the seafood resto in tacloban serves fresh seafood that makes my mouth water. the first time i went to san juanico my jaw dropped coz its so long yet its elevation from the water below is so little, i miss my boyfrends' family.
