I'm in two minds really. Contrary to what a lot of British people feel, I don't think our immigrants have in any way damaged our society. Most immigrants come from countries where the behavioural code is much stricter than our own. I believe that the problems in our society in recent years are caused by British nationals and the serious deterioration in morals and values, not immigrants. I see the people who make problems in our society regarding immigrants, are the native Brits who blame everything on anybody but themselves, and they will point the finger of blame at the nearest target, the immigrants. I feel that causes more problems than it solves, as it draws attention away from the real cause of what's gone wrong with our society. After all, Adolf Hitler in Germany perpetuated an extreme form of a "them and us" society, and look what happened there!
Britain always has had immigrants - going back several centuries, we are a nation of immigrants and the melting pot process hsa watered that down.
When the current generation of immigrants into Britain have settled here and merged into society, we will see them as no different to anybody else living here. Also, I believe immigrants can do a lot to enrich our society - for instance, we have become a nation of curry lovers, and that never would have happened without immigrants from India and Africa opening up restaurants in Britain.
On the other side of the coin though, I feel that being as we are such a small country, we simply don't have enough room to keep on welcoming more immigrants, and I'd like to see other countries in the European Union opening their doors to more immigrants.

Other Countries also take lots of immigrants-its just that there are millions of people every year who pile up around Europe desperate to get in.
The behavioural code is not stricter in other countries-at least not when it comes to manners, cleanliness and consideration for other people.
The deterioration in British values is the result of a process where liberals have assigned everything equal value-including cultures, morals and people, when this obviously isn't true.
Britain has not always been a Nation of immigrants- genetic studies have shown that the pre-1948 population was overwhelmingly derived from the original Ice Age settlers.
The problems the British have with Immigrants does not necessarily have anything to do with "trying to draw attention away from the real cause of whats gone wrong with our society"-we all know we have problems, and we all know that British people have largely been responsible for causing them. The problem is that there is now no society left to fix because of immigration. Its as if a really awful society with many great people has been hit by a nuclear bomb.
