Are sippy cups good for children?

The nutritionist my child sees, says tha sippy cups cause problems with children's teeth

I really dont think it is the cup at fault but the sweet sugery drinks that rot childrend teeth

well my daughter uses one. she's 2 and she tries to drink out of a regular cup but often spills it. she doesnt walk around with a cup sticking out of her mouth all the time, so im not worried about it. id rather her be drinking out of a sippy instead of a bottle, thats for sure!

I think the reason for this is that many children seem to have them continually in their mouths. This means there is a chance that they will 'push' new teeth forward plus a lot of sugar gets on the teeth and cause decay as well eventually.
