Playing Canasta on Yahoo!

I am a competitive person and I love to play games. I became addicted to several online games on Yahoo!--especially Canasta. Canasta on Yahoo! can either be played as a four person game where you have a partner or a two person game where you are heads up. I like playing it both ways.
I do have a winning streak that seems to spark a lot of response in whatever lobby I am looking for a game. My winning streak is at 68 games---which is unusually high. Now everyone wants to play me to bust it and I've become a picky player looking for the right person to play with or against.
The rules are simple; reach 5,000 points first to be the winner. You get the points be "melding" 3 or more cards or wilds of the same rank (7's for example). You need 7 to make a canasta. 2's and Jokers are wilds and if you use those to make a canasta, you need at least 4 cards to be the same rank. If you do not use any wilds, you will make a natural, or red canasta--and these are worth more points.
To me, Canasta reminds me of a glorified Rummy or Gin-Rummy game, but with more cards.
If anyone is interested in playing or learning how to play, I'd love to hear from you.

I usually play in teams. My cousin and aunt in New York are usually on there playing so I catch up with them. I am definately not real good at it but it is fun. It sounds like your husband is really good at canasta.

I haven't played Canasta yet. I used to play spades a lot on Yahoo, but now I play games at gamesville.com I'm not to competative when it comes to online games. I don't think I even know how to play Canasta, is it really like Rummy?
