why in some countries criticize the age of the applicant?

here in the philippines once you reached 3o years old above our chances are fifty fifty to get a job? like in other countries like in UAE they can still consider for the job up to age 50. what is the true basis for age range of an applicant?

Employer look for the younger person to hire because they thought that the more young the person is the more eager to learn new things and they expect a lower salary unlike those whose age is above 30 and has wider experience would demand a higher compensation.

When there are no laws agains age discrimination in the workplace, that is what happens. It is also a problem in Nicaragua. Some countries have laws making it illegal to discriminate against various things: age, gender, minority, etc.
