Antiques....lets see. They come from our past, ya know, where history comes from. Actually pbrown042....mind if I call you PB? I live in a town that sports several Chic antique shops. The problem with this is they are very high priced I feel. I like antiques made of wood as opposed to say iron. I like things like old signs, cameras, record players, books, window frames, and frames. Not to keen on furniture however. What about you?

So you like clocks, very cool. One of my vices is watches. I love watches. Not antique, but just the time pieces themselves. I hear you on the antique furniture, that is why I like the cameras and books and antiques along those lines because of their interesting factor too.

I have about thirty antique clocks. All American made from early to late 1800's. I like to do research on them to see where they came from. I also have several pieces of furniture. I am not really into furniture either, but some of it makes great decorative pieces.

Don't know much about those kinds of antiques cause I have all American made antiques, but feel free to enlighten me.

I have a lot of old things, more than a l00 years old, and I don't know what to do about them, or how to find the value. I watch a lot of the Antique Road Show, waiting to see some of the things that I have, but to no avail, I did see one thing that I own though.

If you go to a book store, like a Barnes and Nobles, you can find a lot of old antiques in the antiques section. There is a great book called Palmer's antique guide and it gives you the most recent auction values of thousands of antiques. It also gives you the origin and different markings to look for, etc. You should check it out!

I have a few figurines as well. My grandmother collected antiques. She had a house packed with them. I got a lot from her when she passed on and now I am kind of interested in it.
