How many people are happily married or remarried?

I am curious to know about couples that are happily married. What are some of the things your relationship or marriage have had to overcome? Do you have children? Are you living near other family members? Have you used counseling? Or, are you on a 2nd or 3rd marriage and finally made your connection to your soulmate? Me, I am happily remarried and will be married two years in June of next year.

I have been happily married for 4 1/2 years. We live near my family but my husband is closer to my family then he is his own. I was in a terrible relationship for 5 years (not married thankfully) and finally wised up enough to leave. I met my husband not long after. We started talking as just friends but it became more. He is the sweetest and most loving man I have ever met. He has his faults like everyone in life but he is great. If he were to perfect I think it would frighten me....LOL

Thank you for sharing. It's amazing when you connect with a person that is a perfect match--especially after being in a previous relationship. It's great when you start out as friends. My husband is one of my best friends and I can talk to him as a friend and as a spouse.

I am happily remarried to the love of my life. We have gone through some rough patches at times but we went through counseling and realized that we are each other's best friend and that it would be hard to find somebody else to replace each other in our relationship. We are now closer than ever and we love being with each other. Not to say that we have our spats every so often but that is normal. We try to work everything out and so we live happily ever after because of it. Thanks for the topic.
