If God is the perfect, all knowing, universe creating being that humans believe "He" is, there would be nothing we could do that would please "Him" nor anything we could do that would offend "Him". We are just too infinitely small and spiritually helpless to make much of a difference one way or another. I think the point of life is to learn about ourselves, not to serve or praise "God".
I feel much closer to my creator since I gave up the whole Christian/Judeo concept of an old man God sitting on a throne watching and keeping score over every little thing I do. I just don't feel that there is a way to define a being that could create as infinitely and individually unique as we find in all of the creatures in the world we live in.
Without the pressure to follow the rules, which change for every different religion, I feel that I am much closer to being the person I am supposed to be. I want to live a value oriented life just because it is the right thing to do. Therefore becoming more spiritually healthy for myself and the other people in my life.

Of course. My life is nothing without HIM. We can build a close relationship whit GOD only if we know that GOD is everything. Its the start, then you will try to love GOD, and last you will feel that you are nothing without HIM.
So, whatever you do you will always ask your GOD: "Do YOU happy if i did it?"

Yes I do! God is my best friend and He is my priority! Each morning I have long conversations with God and I thank Him for everything He gives me. Then all throughout the day I still talk to Him. In order to develop a close relationship with God, you should reach out to Him at all times, not only when you are in need.
