Hi.. anyone over here into Wicca? If so, tell me from how long and how you developed interest in Wicca ? Do mention which country you are from.
Well i used to be but just don't get a chance anymore to talk to my other wiccan friends/ participate in wiccan grps online which i'm part of/ read my books n mags... or anything at all lately. I guess my interest just started and due to insufficent time.. just faded. I've hrd there are over 1 lac wiccans in the US alone. that's really amazing.. i hardly know 2/3 ppl in India who r into Wicca. I hope to find some like minded peeps here.

I am not Wiccan but I am Pagan and a practicing Witch and have been Pagan all my life but walking my Witchy road for over 10 yrs now..I was originally introduced to Wicca as a starter thing by a long time veteran of Witchcraft and have long since left that and moved onto the path I'm on which is actually a combo of old school Witchcraft, Vodou, Buddhism and native american spirituality among other things. Its funny because ppl tend to natter about how one cant blend religions etc but IMO thats just a load of crap, our personal spiritual and/or religious choice are just that "personal" so for someone to tell me I'm "wrong" is, well, entertaining to say the least ;-) ...I'm from Canada originally but moved here to NY after getting married (my husband is american)...

This has been a very interesting discussion! I have never heard of Wicca, and I was just at the site you linked to. I bookmarked it so that I can explore it more when I have the time. I love to learn about new things, and this is so interesting. Thanks for posting it!

I am from USA and I am a Pagan Wiccan.
You can be Wiccan by following the ways even if you are not able to currently study.
I have been Wiccan for....wow...I can't even remember when I really started.
It has been a number of years ago.
But my partner and children made the decision to practice and learn Wiccan 3 Yule's ago! :) Even though I studied and practiced, my partner did not believe in it and did not want our 7 children raised as such. But a few years ago, he finally decided to go out and get a book while I was at work to learn more. And when I got home, he was soooooo excited because he said it made so much sense to him! That he now finally understood why I have never given it up no matter his protest and he wanted to teach the Wiccan ways to the children.
I took some time...but we are now a Pagan/Wiccan family.

I first started learning about Wicca because my daughter wanted to learn about it, then I found out that my stepdaughter was practicing.
I figured that I'd better find out what they were getting into. lol
I really connected with what I was reading, and now I combine it with my Native American Spirituality.

Merry Meet and Blessed Be. You may have put your craft to one side, and perhaps like me you are Hedge Witch, I think that means when practice when we can.

I don't think I like the term "into Wiccan" as if it were a mere hobby rather than a religion.
Aside from that, this is a very interesting discussion. I'm surprised about the number of people who have never heard of Wicca before! I cannot call myself Wiccan, but I have studied the religion extensively (among others) to get a feel for what the best spiritual path is for me based on my beliefs.

I'm not into it, like I don't practice it, but I am interested in the beliefs, traditions and stuff like that. I like learning about different beliefs and practices.

I was lucky in that i was raised by people that did not force any kind of belief system on me. I was free to choose. I studied and dabbled in various systems. I was a practioner of Science of mind for over 5 years, but was becoming disillusioned with it. It is remarkably similiar to Wicca. I honestly do not recall exactly how I made the transition from SOM to Wicca. I do know that I was going through a very hard time in my life and was bordering on depression. I saw a picture of a pentacle, intertwined with a rose, and it touched me deeply. I felt such a surge of power, strength, and peace from that simple picture, even though I did not know what it meant or stood for. I had it tattooed on my stomach. I went to work and showed my best friend, also a co-worker, my new tattoo, and found out that she and her husband were Wiccan. They had kept it a secret for fear of judgement. She then led me to various books and such on the subject, and i found what i knew was "right" for me.
I have been on this path for over 4 years now, and it fits me.

No never have been. I am 100% Christian. I have had friends in the past that were into it and now my new daughter-in-law is a Wiccan. I have checked it out somewhat and it all seems very nice, not at all what I expected. Any environmentalist could easily be involved since it is the study and honor of nature and all natural things. I know there is more to it than that, but wanted to make sure everyone understood it is not devil worshipping like I was always led to believe.

I know there are many Wiccans on this forum. My boyfriend has been studying it for over a year. He too hasn't had much time to do anything lately. I am somewhat interested in it as my faith in god is just about gone. I read wiccan articles every once in awhile but I haven't had much time lately. Hopefully soon we will get back into it. But I know we won't be part of a coven,we will be on our own. By the way, I am from the USA.

I was raised Roman Catholic and always felt like something wasn't right, something was missing. In my 20's I really began to learn about paganism, Wicca and other religions. I found that for me it gave me the balance I didn't have before with my religion. I personally believe that all gods are the same it's just a matter of how we precieve them. I believe there are many up there others might only believe in one. To each is own in my opinion. I've been studying when I can. I admit the last couple of years my time has been a bit short so haven't had the chance to devote to it as much as I used to.
