Is Education is for only jobs purpose??

Is education is for only jobs purpose? Because some people dont have an exact idea on Education.I listened comments that they are studying just for time pass purpose, pressure from their parents and mostly for jobs purpose only.What's your opinion on this? Do you think these all are the correct reasons? Are you studying for time pass purpose or pressure from your parents or for jobs purpose or any other purpose? I think Education is for knowledge purpose,isn't it??
