Serve the nation

Serve the people(nation) is one of the goal in my life. If i say like this with my friends they will laugh. Because in their piont of view it's not a goal at all. They said that goal in life means to become a doctor, loyar,teacher,engineer,actor etc etc. I think that it is the responsibility of every citizen to serve the nation. Do you agree with me? What is your idea on serve the nation? What is your goal in life?
