In China, Chinese character shoud be written right-handed because of the form of the words. So many left-handed students are asked by teachers to change their habit of doing things by hand. I heared the left-handed students majoring in surgery also should learn how to do operations with right hand. Do you think it's fair?

If a person is left handed, they should not have to change to right handed. I think it is good for a person to be able to do both but I would feel more comfortable with someone doing surgery on me with their normal hand than learn with a new hand and mess things up. I have not heard of people here being told to change their habits with their comfortable hand. I am a right handed person though some people in my family are left handed.

No. I am not left handed. I think people having left hand habits should not be forced. It will create a lot of medical problems.

I'm a right -handed person, but my husband is a left-handed person, i'm always telling him , "Oh, you're left-handed. You're smart." Many people have tried many different ways to kick the habit.I don't think so.

I am left-handed. I am lucky as I have not been forced by anybody to use my right hand. I started writing with my right hand on my free will when I was young as I copied my teacher's strokes. All other activities are done by my left hand, including drawing. My ex-colleagues, who are also left-handed, have no problem writing the chinese characters with their left hands. Our left hand is controlled by our right brain. This means that my right brain is more developed than my left and therefore it dominates. Thus I believe I should be left alone to use my left hand to develop my right brain to its fullest potential.

My inconvenience of being a left-handed person is that I will knock my chopsticks against my partner's if she's right-handed and sitting to my left.
