We have made many trips throughout Australia, although there are still many places that we want to see. I think that one of the better trips we did was during 2006 when we drove to Western Australia from the eastern states. We were with a group of other people on the way over and spent more time with them on the way back, till after about 4 weeks we were on our own. The trip was about 8 weeks and we drove some 10,000 kms during that time. We camped some nights on the way over, stayed with friends over there for about a week, and on the return trip it was a combination of staying in caravan parks and camping out in the bush.
We saw many sites that we haven't seen before and would like to go back one day but spend a little more time in some areas that we felt needed it. However when travelling with a group that is not always possible, although we did all have our own vehicles of course.
We saw Whales at the Head of the Bight, walked through the Valley of the Giants (trees), climbed Wave Rock and so many other things too numerous to mention here. Also did some fishing at Streaky Bay and Edithburgh in South Australia on our way home.
This photo is of where the Nullabour Plain and the Great Australian Bight meet, and it is truly a magnificient site to see.

My favorite vacation was with my boyfriend of the time, now my hubby. It was in 2001, we only knew each other 5 months and we went to the Bahamas together. My Mother was ill and in the hospital, so I had to call and check in 2x's a day, which he did not mind. Our trip was in May and she passed away in October of that year. It was so relaxing to sit on the beach in his arms and forget about all of the stress at home. She knew we were going away and insisted that we do so, but she felt safer being in the hospital instead of home alone. We spend 5 wonderful days soaking up the sun and enjoying each others company. It was my 1st time seeing the ocean. Spectacular!
