what you mean by anand?

Hi, my question is very simple. what do you mean by anand. In india anand means happiness.

Anand actually does not mean happiness, it actually means joy. There is a subtle difference between joy and happiness. Joy is a experienced at the spur of a moment, whereas happiness is expressed over a period of time. Cheers! Ram
