globalisation and patriotism

when the whole world is takling about globalisation or making the whole world as a single village community does patriotism have any value

It is the way of the future. Look at Toyota and Nissan. They are building plants in America, which is creating jobs for americans. Look at GM and Ford, they were once only in America, now they have plants in Mexico and Canada and I am sure in other parts of the world. I don't mind companies expanding but it bothers me when they pack up and leave one country and start in another country because it is cheaper to produce there. Unfortunately that is happening alot in America. If companies chose to preoduce in more than one country providing jobs all over the world, that is okay. On the other hand hurting one countrys workers to profit and line your pocket is not right.

Thats a good question. I think patriotism and nationalism will definately be an obstacle to any world community (which I think is a dumb idea anyways) and IMO it will be one of many impassable barriers before the world is ruled by a single body.
