Have any of you seen the animated series on Nickelodeon, Avatar: the Last Airbender? The first time I watched it, I wasn't really into it. But then I saw more episodes and I saw elements that made it a really good show to watch. It has a good hero to look up to, secondary characters that help move the plot along with drama and comedy, complex character stories, and some pretty bad atangonists. But that is just a very short list. For all of you that don't know what it's about, it is about a boy named Aang who has the destiny of the avatar who is meant to save the world. But Aang is just a 12 year old boy who was asleep for 100 years and everyone had thought he disappeared. But now he's back and is on a journey to save everyone from the destructive hands of the fire lord. There are lots of point in this story that should be explained but it is ALOT. So try looking through nick's show times and try to catch the avatar some time. You might enjoy it.

Avatar: the Last Airbender is really good. It has a pretty deep story line and plot, more than you'd expect from anything playing on Nickelodeon. It is a really cool fantasy and there is enough there for adults to enjoy also. It is even better seen in order... season 1 & most of 2 are out on DVD now. It is a continuing saga, unlike a lot of cartoons where everything is wrapped up in one episode. It is really worth a look for adults who enjoy some cartoons like Simpsons and Futurama.

I completely agree. I think that's why the age of the audience is very expanded.

It's actually a very good cartoon series for kids. The lead character is a fun-living kid but he has come to terms with important responsibilities which he must accept. And he's not the sort of hero who resorts to violence all the time. He's mostly defensive and a pacifist (he's a monk). And the episodes neatly illustrate values like friendship, family, respect, honesty and teamwork.

I think shows like this are really dumb I don't let my kids watch them. You need to get a better hobby.

I respect your opinion. But the show is not a hobby of mine. But thanks for the advice.
