How do you cook your ham?

My mother's recipe for cooking a ham is so simple and so delicious. It's been a family favorite for years. I was just wondering how others cook their hams.
I add 1 can of Coke, 1 cup of brown sugar and baste regularly. The gravy is sweet and creamy.
What's your technique?

We hardly ever cook a ham around here because my dad is the one who really likes it. The rest will eat but very seldom. When we do cook it they usually put brown sugar on it sometimes and then wrap it in aluminium foil put in it a pan and then put water around it to help it cook. Sometimes they would just put aluminium foil around it and put it in a pan and cook it like that. It always turned out ok. Most of the time when we eat ham around here its the packages of ham we've picked up for the stores, then we just fry it up and slap cheese on it and then put it on a sandwich. I prefer tuckey meat this way though lol

Ham cooked in coke is the best (Nigela Lawson has a recipe in one of her books)
Just cover in coke ( can b expensive) and put in an onion and boil. Once boiled take off some fat, put some cloves in cover in black trackle sprinke some mustard powder and brown sugar on it and bake. mmmmmmm the best.

I love ham. Baked or boiled. Boiled seems to agree with me better than a baked ham. Boiling releases a lot of the salt and fat in the ham. Baking seems to intensify the saltiness.

First I boil it, then I coat it with a little honey and stick some cloves in it. I then place it in a roasting tin, cover it with tin foil and roast it on a low heat for an hour.

I never heard of using coke. That's interesting.
I'd boil the ham first. Then I remove the fat and score the top. I mix up some brown sugar and mustard and baste the ham with this and stick into the oven to brown. Sometimes with the juices from the roasted ham then, I mix with a spoonful of port and 3 spoons of redcurrant jelly to make a sauce which I pour over it.

We do ours very similar to yours only we use Vernors instead of Coke. For those who don't know what Vernors is, it is a ginger ale. It tu-*rns out really good. Next time we'll try your way.+

I usually buy a 3-5 pound ham and have the deli at the grocery store slice it into 1/4 inch slices.
Then I put it in a crock pot with either applesauce or pineapple between layers of ham. I cook it on low for about 4 hours.
My whole family loves it this way.
