Is it stupid for Americans to go to Amsterdam to get hi?

It really depends. I mean on one hand it is illegal to do it here in the states so Amsterdam can offer that feeling of libeartion. On the other hand you can pretty much get away with smoking pot in America if you do it quietly so why waste a grand on a plane ticket to go to Amsterdam if you don't want to indulge in anything besides smoking pot?

If Americans are thinking of going to Amsterdam . . . just to get high, just forget it !!! Amsterdam has much more to offer as a fun city. getting high is a bit of a drag . . .

I think everybody love freedom! You don't need to hide to get hi in amsterdam. If you love enjoying something, you better do it where you are free and can even boast of it. So, I guess it is not stupidity but freedom.

I had assumed that everyone knew, and I'm sure some people count on the money they get from tourists. They probably keep the good stuff for native shoppers. Also, there are a lot more than "coffee shops" there. If all you want to do is smoke pot, just stay hush hush, and get in with the right crowd for the good stuff here.

if the only reason they are going is to get high, than yea its real stupid..but if they're also going because they want to experience the culture then thats all fine and dandy
