I think this is a negative movie - but it shows some positive effects early on in the movie before the negative effects and addiction were shown. The film is almost entirely negative, however, showing the addiction of the mom and how she ended up in a mental institution, harry losing his arm, ty getting arrested, marion doing stuff she would never have done before just to get her fix.

I think it had his strong points, but I don't like the way it has directed, with all the camera spinnings and what not. Also, I don't think it's a film that it should be seen more than once, the story isn't as complex as some people claim it to be.

I don't think anything is overly positive or negative. Even if it's just bringing to light the negative reality of the way we live, it's a positive thing. Also, I think the fact that it's a brilliant movie makes it a really positive thing. Very entertaining and eye opening.
