Spamming is repeatedly posting the same message over and over again, as a discussion or as a response. Some people would copy and paste the same response over and over, even if it didn't pretain to the discussion, just to make more money. People will also copy and paste other people's responses. So the copy & paste function has been disabled. I think once you reach a certain number of posts, you're allowed to use it.

thanks for the response.. well these people should simply be banned and i always flag their messages.. cut and paste is a very useful feature even for legit purposes.. so a bit harsh in my opinion..

Oh that's weird. I just tried pasting and it worked (first time I've tried). Anyways, I don't need to copy/paste stuff in discussion boards much, so I'd assume that other people shouldn't need it that much either. If they wanted to quote something, they could just link to the article/text.
