Let say, there is this mad dictator who hates your people so much that they would love to nuke you out of the face of the Earth. Your country couldn't do anything and no other countries wants to help out for fear of retaliation.
What would you do?

For me to prepare for the bomb at least you must give me a hint on how much time I have to prepare myself for the exodus. As far as I know there is no place to hide from a nuclear explosion. Our country Sri Lanka is small and with one bomb the whole country is gone. So the only place to run is to the sea. That is on the assumption that the bomb is going to be dropped into the center of the country.
We can also run to India. From the north of our country we can take a boat to go there and then run towards Nepal as fast as we can.

That is the saddest thing if that ever happened, millions of people, rich and poor, prisoners and free, fleeing for their lives. After fleeing, they would be in a desperate situation because they would be refugees and in needing of food and shelter. Even after fleeing, thousands upon thousands will die as well due to disease breakout. It will be great humanitarian disaster.

If at all that would happen I would prepare myself to help the survivers if I survive.

In reality, you can only help so much. Because everyone is hungry and thirsty and in need of medication. You'll run out of energy sooner or later and you also need to dress your burns or injury.

I would get out of there as soon as possible whether it was driving, flying, taking a train or bus, walking, running, swimming or whatever means of getting out of there. LOL I would not stay around to be bombed. That is for sure.

After all doing that, there is a possibility of a nuclear winter. The fall out will probably spread several hundreds of miles radius to where the bomb has detonated. In order to successfully flee, one has to move several thousands of kilometers away to hamper the effects of the radiation.
