It can be just friendship but depend on which level the friendship took you to. Some boys and girls develop friendship because they have things in common not because they want to be lover or they are infatuated but because they realise that they need each other because they have things or do things in common. To be candid, most relationship end up to be infatuation only where the relationship is real, true and honest one then, it can lead to marriage. Mark you, you can be in relationship for years without expressing your feeling and at the dying minute you discover that that guy is deply in love with you. Yes, I have had a male friend for the past 20years, and there's been nothing more than friendship. My husband has become friends with him too. He's just like a brother to me, We've talked about why we never got together and concluded that we both were afraid of ruining a great friendship. We have seen each other go thru alot of stuff.

yes it's possible. but the usual case in friendships is when one party falls in love with the other (his/her friend) but this friend doesn't love him/her and only considers him/her as a friend. so nothing happens; they still end up being friends.

First of all, it is possible for a guy and girl to just be friends. One of my closest friends is a guy and there is nothing but friendship between us. But as far as when friends become more than friends, the chances of the relationship ending is somewhat high. It really all depends on the individuals involved and whether they are willing to put their friendship at risk, because that is what happens when you cross the line between friendship and love.
