As i know, donating blood is a healthy habits for yourself.Blood Donation may also reduce risk for Heart Disease such as the very common killer:heart attack. The presence of existing heart disease was much lower in those who gave blood and therefore it's not surprising that the blood donors had fewer subsequent heart attacks.mOREOVER its a noble act.

Yes it is good both to you and your recipient. For you, blood donating is very beneficial because once you have donated blood your body would recognize this and eventually would form new blood cells. New blood cells are more efficient in transporting oxygen thus rendering the new blood cells to be more efficient in trnsporting oxygen to your different body cells. You will then feel rejuvinated. The recipient of the blood donated would also very much benefit from your donated blood.
Donating blood is one way of helping others who are in need of blood and other blood products.
