I cannot find words for the amazing musicianship of the late James Brown, Soul Borther number 1. A fan for all my lifetime, I will greatly miss this man, though I never got to see him in live performance, but that was my Hajj. He was a great guy, having had immense influence on a long line of contemporary musicians, from the ultra-talented Prince to the original Michael Jackson to the self-parodying Lenny Kravitz. All of them, and nameless others, owe James Brown a great debt. I know MJ is really sad about this event. I recall the live show where The Godfather of Soul invited Michael Jackson on stage and MJ in turn asked for Prince. It was a gas. What a selfless artiste! He was just... incomparable.
