The problem with DSL is that all is asynchronous, meaning your download speed is faster than the upload speed. What we want is for the upload speed to be in sync with the download speed as well.

I haven't really experienced WI-FI (wireless connection). Isn't it you have to be near a wifi hotspot in order to have access?

I stopped using dial up internet many years ago and have been on cable internet for a while. I would never return to dial up service unless my finances were so bad that dial up was my only choice. Cable internet and DSL seem to be the way to go and would be my choices.

How is the speed of the cable internet? I know that if there are many users in your neighborhood on the internet, the speed goes really low and some instances some users complained of lower than dial up speed. Did you experienced that as well?

Upto 23.12.2006 I was using a dial up connection to connect to the Internet. It cost me about $2 per hour to be on the Internet. Anyway I was still using mylot because I was enjoying it although financially it was a loss.
But on 23rd evening I got my ADSL line or broadband connection. Now it is like having the world in my pocket. And I spend only $25 to use the Internet for 24 hours everyday.

There is nothing like a broadband connection. I can't imagine ever going back to dial-up. I'm wondering if there are users here who do not have access to anything except dial-up?

If your mobile network supports 3G, you can hook up your mobile phone to you PC in order to have access to broadband speed! Yes, you heard it right, you can actually use your mobile phone on 3G to experience broadband speed anywhere and everywhere. The cost is the same as paying for broadband.
