why is that we can never give the name 'CON' to any folder?

while naming or renaming folders in windows operating system we can never give it a name as 'con'.this is a serious issue which even people from microsoft are unable to answer.do anyone here know the reason why?if so plz do share it.

No it is not that Microsoft people dont know about 'con'. It is a Ms Dos command so it is a reserved command. It has been programmed to not to be used in name.extention format.
