i spent a large chunk of my childhood living in thailand. being a filipino, living in thailand is almost like living in the philippines too. the people are warm and friendly. the climate and environment is about the same. the only real difference is the language. it was very hard growing up there. i had to learn how to speak thai. and most people there before did not know how to speak english. so the language barrier is the main problem. but other than that, bankok thailand is very much like manila with cheaper food.

Thailand is pretty much like the Philippines in many ways, The climate, food, peoples's friendly attitudes among others. The one thing that I find very attractive that I don't find in the Philippines is the presence of so many temples. Fascinating in their designs and the way they were constructed.

Yes, language was a problem when I was living in Bangkok too. I finally decided to take Thai language course. That helped. But,needed more time.

Swadee Krup: I was born in Thailand and moved to the U.S. when I was about 9 years old. I have only gone back three times all together in the last 27 years. Most recent visit was just last year. I could hardly recongized the old Bangkok anymore. The most advantages I have is my ability to speak Thai when I go back. It makes traveling so much easier and of course I do missed Thailand. But for now I'm happy here in the U. S. of A. Take care.
