Did anybody get a laptop for Christmas?

I got one, need to find a server so I can travel with it

I already have a laptop. As for the server are you referring to a localhost test bed? If so I suggest you download Apache2Triad which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL, Perl and other languages. Wonderful application for testing locally; I have it installed on several different computers.

I need to be able to get on the internet with my laptop when I am in the car or away from home.

So what you are looking for is wireless. If you do buy a laptop make certain is does come with a wireless modem.

Thank you, I already have the laptop and it did come with everything. Guess I am going to Cingular today to have them hook me up.

Does yours have the card, or did you subscribe to a service that allows you to get on the internet anywhere? Not a place that you plug into a phone jack I think that is called wifi, but one you can use with a sim card like a cell phone?

nope but i wish to.so i can work even at home and also vist mylot everyday.i only got a chance to browse my lot in the office my computer at home has no internat connection.

Nope, a friend of mine did however. My laptop was given to me last year as a birthday present.
