Knowing About Other Countries

i have been to lanzarote with my boyfriends last summer. it was lovely, the food was amazin, did not want to leave there, everyone was sooo friendly

I've been to Gran Canaria - about ten years ago was the last time. Maspalomas was the area I stayed in. Apparently they used to film spaghetti westerns there because of the sand dunes. It looks like a desert in places. I quite liked it there - the area we stayed in was mainly German tourists although that's cool (I don't have a problem with them so long as they don't hog all the sunloungers:)). Weather is great there but you have to be careful because the cool breeze coming in from the sea makes you forget how strong the sun is. Got sooooo sunburnt when I was there! Only thing I didn't like that much about it is it's really purpose built for tourism. When I go abroad I want to see where and how the locals live. I don't just want to meet other holidaymakers. That was a bit lacking for me - it was a little bit like Blackpool with sun (I guess that will only mean something to the people from UK reading this). All in all though I would recommend it as a holiday but personally I probably wouldn't go back.
