Holiday Time As You Age

I'm eighteen now, and I was just wondering others thoughts on not just Christmas, but all the holidays as you grow older. There was no snow in the place I live, which is unfortunate cause it has snowed here all of the other 17 years of my life for Christmas. I believe that played a large part in why the holidays did not feel the same, but it wasn't just that.
Christmas has lost it's luster, traveling to see family almost seems as if it is one big joke. Everyone feigns interest in each other for a couple hours, and tells each other how much they've been missed. Is this all fake? I even have a loving family, but find Christmas and the holidays to be almost a joke.

I know how you feel. Christmas never feels like it did when we were younger. You kind of have to make your own traditions in order to make it special.
