What animal makes a good pet?

The best pet for a person depends on the person and the living situation. A person might love Bull Mastiffs, but if they live in a small high-rise in NYC, a dog might not be the best. People need to think of the animals needs first when getting a pet. Some with horses, dogs and cat shouldn't be allowed to take care of a housefly!! I personally have had everything from cats, dogs, horses, guinia pigs, hamsters, fish, birds of many types, pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits, cared for injured hawk, alligator, possum, raccoon, fox, etc. I have even been known to feed a pitiful little yellow jacket - till the hornet ate him!

Me too. i like dogs. they are very friendly and always faithful. you can also train them to understand you when you talk to them

i'm crazy about dogs...so i will have to say that it's dog...i love furry dogs...shih tzu, cocker spaniel, pomenarian, poodle etc..

I think a dog is because you can do more with it. Plus they are a fun pet to own.

Well I have and have always had dogs so I'd have to say they were the best pet cause they are wonderful companion animals. Of course having said that, depending on a person's circumstances and where they live etc will go a long way toward them choosing what type of pet they think is best. A fish for example may be a great pet for a person that has limited room or isn't home a lot.

Dogs definitely make the very best of pets. In fact there was a joke I had read long back in Reader's Digest which said If you could read between a cat's and a dog's thoughts about how a human treats them then it would look like this. CATS Thoughts : I am God thats why humans treat me so very well DOGS THOUGHTS : Humans must be god thats why they treat me so well.
