Why are people so addicted to The Sims?

I don't know why both both of my sisters screamed when they realized they got an expansion pack for the sims as part of their christmas gifts. I have played the game and I do not care too much for it... I am the only one here? Tell me what you think.

My daughters like the Sims and my husband doesn't understand the facination. I don't mind playing now and then. It is just a matter of preference. I wonder why people like playing the killing games. I like games like the Sims or the civilization type games because it is a challenge to build uphomes, towns, lives and keep them going. Its like a puzzle trying to figure out what will work

i am also addicted with sims2. i just love it so much. it's really cool that women can get pregnant then give birth(i wish the husband need to bring his wife at the hospital)then from baby to older. i just love it.
