i think not ..purely because he"S only 33...and he"s not that old to retire ..i think he still has it in him to play for a few years .....i mean he cant score runs in evvery match....but he can provide useful tips to the team as a senior ..he can coach the youngsters for a whileand i think he definitely has some more years in him

I think you must be crazy to even suggest that. Sachin tendulkar, our hero the ebst abtsman in the world. he is the jewel in india's crown. He is the national treasure. He is the little champion, master blaster. despite recent slump in form and facing some injuries he is the best batsman in India by far and has the technique, temperament and experience now to guide India to some famous victories. As batsman plays his best in their thirties as they become better with age, look at lara and he is planning to play test ctricket till 40. so tendulkar if he is fit can paly for another decade. don't compare us with aussies. Aussies have very good domestic scricket setup and very good bench strength who can replce grwat players like Shane warne though might not be as effective. tell me how many youngsters in India today have the ability and stature and potential and exprience that little champion has. My friend player like sachin tendulkar are not born everyday it takes ages to find suucha grat player. And don't forget Sachin tendulkar according to kapil dev his best is yet to come. So let's hope and pray that he guides indian to famous test citories and world cup wins in tis decade. And guides team india to greater glory.

Ah its a difficult question to answer. Its totally an individuals desicion. Nobody told shane or mcgrath to retire, they themselves retired on ther own will.
We indians do one thing wrong i.e comment too much on individuals. Cricket is not an individuals game, its a team game.
I f we start stressing on the performance of india and not on players this question will not arise.
I think a palyer have every right to play as much as he wants. and its the performance and not name which will kepp him in the side.
Cheers,
Tutul

He isn't on top his career, its been long since hes been among runs...
And also there is a lot of cricket left in him, all the team's responsibilty lies on his shoulders still...
His retirement will imbalance the team badly...
So, i think there is no such plans of him retiring in the near future...

Yes, and that too very soon! I don't know if he's at his top or not but certainly time has come for him to say goodbye after this world cup. he's done enough, earned enough and now he should think twice before continuing because he's past his peak.
Thanks

He has lot of cricket in him. I guess he will play the next world cup if he is fit. Indian team needs him not only as a player but, as a coach, guide, support for young cricketer who have just entering the team. they will sure get lot encouragement & support from tendulkar & they will too learn from tendulkar.

I will agree with you in a way i.e., every great cricketer should retire when he is at top of his career. But right now Sachin is not in the best form. So atleast he should play around two or three matches / one days and perform well before declaring retirement. But if he is unable to show his performance then instead of waiting for not selecting by BCCI better retire now is the best option. In the same way for Sourov Ganguly also. Now he got a good chance to perform well and show his best and retire from world cricket.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the best batsmen in today's cricket. He has broken so many records and created some unbeatable records too.He is playing cricket for more than 16 years now.Right now he is not scoring big runs on the field, but we should not forget what all he did for Indian cricket team. His presence itself brings motivation to the rest of the team players.
He might consider retirement after the world cup.
