My dad says that he is a Christian and doesn't have to go to church to be one. I try to go to church as often as possible. I would like to know from you all what you think. Do you have to go to Church to be a Christian or can you do what he says and worship God at home, by yourself? I am confused. One line comments will get a negative rating. Explain yourself please.

I would consider myself a Christian. However, I've never attended Church because I feel most of the churches around here care more about making money than spreading God's word.

I agree, most churches are like that. Even some in this area.

I do not think that you have to go to church to be considered a christian,I use to go to church faithfully every Sunday.I loved being in the choir, being the clerical secretary, and worshiping with the other in the church, but then things started to get my attention and I was having many questions that were unanswered,I tried several churches, but it seemed that as soon as I got comfortable something would happen to make me feel that the church was still not right for me,that it was not what i was looking for.I have since then changed my bar into my alter,I have picture of Jesus across the front, the top is full of angels, preachers, flowers, and candles, and on the wall behind my alter are more candles, and a picture of Jesus holding a sheep.going to church is great, and I am glad to hear that you attend, but we as christians are the church, our bodies are the temple of Christ.so my answer is no,you do not have to go to church to be a Christian. If that was true, then there are a lot of people out there in wheelchairs,or bed ridden that think they are Christians and are not.think about it? that should give you your answer.

I believe that you are saved because of your belief in Jesus Christ not because of your ability to sit through sermons and waste time on Sundays.

no I don't think you need to go to church to be a Christian. If I remember correctly, I think the bible says something about worshipping in private? Anyone know what I am talking about?
