No. What's cruel is boiling them alive.

No more cruel than listening to their claws scrap the side of the kettle as they are being boiled alive. They aren't naturally red. They are red from being boiled. It is suggested that you stick them in the freezer for a bit before boiling them as it will "paralyze" them and it is supposed to be less painful. Whatever.

i think its the same as shipping aquarium fishes worldwide
it stresses the lobster or fish but i dont think its cruel in any way.
like they said, when the lobster is being boiled then thats cruel..

I think it is totally inhumane. I knew a lobster that once got airsick during the shipping process. Do you think they offered him any dramamine? Heck no! Did they clean up the mess in his packing container? HECK no. All the other lobsters made fun of him because he was sick. He was smelly, and I gotta tell ya, he was in therapy afterwards for a long time. :)

Ugh. Probably but it's sooooooo goooood. At least I can't afford to eat it very often.
