With 2006 coming to a close and looking back I find that the year has flown by. I am still happy that I am still living from two years ago when I had my triple heart by-pass. I have had the fortune to live longer thanks to modern surgery. I wish everyone a better new year in 2007.

For the most part 2006 sucked. However, the end of the year is definitely looking up and gives me hope for 2007.
I spent most of the year pining away for someone who wasn't worth it. I lost a job, but got a new and better one! There is somebody new in my life and I am excited at the possibilities there!
I had brain surgery in 2005, and had some lingering issues from that. But all in all, I am looking forward to 2007.

Pining for somebody that wasn't worth it must have took a lot out of you, plus losing your job must have been devastating and to top all that a major surgery adds up to what must have been one of the worst years of your life!. But now that you have a new job and someone new in your life, things are looking up for 2007 and wish you well.

2006 was overall a good year but not a great one. I had my own cafe that I had to close down because I lost so much. That really hurt. I felt like a failure. I know that it was better to try than to not try at all or so that is what people say. But now that I tried I know that I failed and that is not a good feeling. I keep thinking that if I had never tried then in my head I would think that if I did open a business of course I would succeed because I am very smart and I would do everything in my power to make it work. Even though I am smart and did everything I could to make it work it still didn't work. Should I have not tried at all?

I second that! Anybody who tries, and tries to reach their dream will reach it eventually. Maybe you ought to try a different kind of business? Try to find something original, and I'll guarantee it'll take off. Don't give up hope, and I would be interested to hear how you've done at the end of 2007, also.
Keep repeating to yourself the old addage, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again."
Good luck! :-)

You did not fail! you did what you had to do and made a good go at it. The experience that you gained will put you in good stead for your next venture. We can not win them all and you cannot put a good person down for long. So just bounce back and we want you to tell us next December how your business is flourishing.good luck.

I'm glad to hear, deeeky, that your bypass was a success and that you've made an extra two years so far... may you have many more to come, and each one better than the last.
From my point of view, 2006 was not the best of years, but I am ever optimistic that things will balance themselves out and everything will fall back into place, so hopefully, 2007 will be that much better. I'm looking forward to next year, with much hope in my heart.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!:-)

It has been the year of change and becoming who I am meant to be. I finally got tired of living what everyone else thought was a "good life" and am marching to the beat of my own drummer, I am much the better person for it. All time is precious particularly give your by pass surgery, use it wisely and I wish you the best

It was a good year. I saw my boyfriend. I took my first plan trip (to see the BF). Business did okay. I also found out I'm going to be an Aunt for the first time! I hope next year is even better though, because there were lots of bumps in the road in 2006.

@006 has been a turning point in my life, I returned home with my new wife to the freezing British weather at the end of January. My wife has now got used to the cold and wet of the UK. I have never been as much in love as I am now and for the first time in my life I can actually see a way forward in my life together with the most wonderful woman in the world (in my opinion).
I hope everyone has a happy and prosperous 2007

It has been a wonderful year for me. I got away from my abusive ex husband around christmas last year, and since i have started a relationship with one of my best friends from elementary school, gotten married to him, and gotten pregnant. The only fall back is that My hubby had to leave for Iraq in October, But this year has been wonderful for me.

Every year seems like a mixed bag, looking back on it. Overall, I think 2006 was good for me. I have a new baby, and a solid job working from home so I can be with my family full time. We're all healthy and warm, and I have good family and friends nearby.
