Immigration laws in the US

My son recently married a Filipino woman and is now having a difficulty getting her into the US. Seems he must prove not only that he can support her but at a level many do not achieve in this area. The money is not the problem so much as the fact that he was in the Philippines for 8 months of this year and cannot prove that much income for this year or last year because he was there part of last year too. Anyone have any ideas or first hand experience with this sort of thing?

Yes, if you know of any one with first hand experience in this or any inexpensive legal way to get this done. His wife is not interested in becoming a US citizen so is not planning to immigrate as such -- just living here for a few years before they return to the Philippines to live.
thanks.

Sorry I cannot personally help you with this one because I live in a different country plus have no idea of immigration rules. However I wanted to bring the discussion forward in the hope that someone might be able to provide some advice to you.
The only thing I can suggest is that your son would be able to prove he was in the Phillipines as his passport would be stamped, and therefore that could be used as part of the explanation for the reduced income during those 2 years. Good luck to all. :)
